The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has cautioned Heads of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examination centers against fraudsters posing as members of the UNEB security committee.
In a press statement, UNEB revealed that scammers have been calling school heads and directors, falsely claiming that their students’ results are at risk of cancellation due to alleged examination malpractice.

The fraudsters then demand money in exchange for ensuring the results are not withheld.
“Please be informed that the Board does NOT operate like that! Where there is a matter of concern, Management will write officially to the affected schools,” said Jennifer Kalule-Musamba, the UNEB Principal Public Relations Officer.
She assured the public that the security team has been alerted and efforts are underway to track and apprehend the culprits.
Meanwhile, the Board also dismissed circulating rumours that the 2024 UCE results would be released today, February 7.
It clarified that the official release date will be announced once confirmation is received from the Ministry of Education and Sports.
Additionally, UNEB reminded school heads to clear any outstanding invoices to avoid delays in accessing the results once they are released.
The Board urged all stakeholders to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity related to examination results.
